undone

10.11.2026 UNDONE

It was never His plan for us to be unwhole, unwell, undeserving, under any other force, unsuccessful, unkind, unloving, unable, undone. The essence of love is freedom, the liberation of its object. YHWH God so loved us. He utterly liberated us from expectations, to choose what our intellect, our emotion, our heart, soul, and spirit, chooses. That is love on its own. Our parents, Adam and Eve, were authentically, genuinely, accurately, passionately, completely, loved by God. God, knowing the result of loving us would cost the murder of His Son, Jesus, by us, the object of His love, utterly liberated us to do it. To a faithless mind this is senseless. To one who knows their own depravity, it is intensely amazing, brutally humbling, and recklessly beautiful.
But why would He? How could He? Because. Love is not love if there are strings attached. And love is not love without persistent pursuit. We could never really love Him back if He forced us to.
Our choice was to believe that God was holding out on us. The satan was allowed to introduce us to subterfuge, deceit, and rebellion. God did not forbid that in His creation-the essence of love. We did not have to, but we chose. The consequences fall on us. We chose to break with the Author of love, to follow after the lies of a stranger, indifferent to our position with the Creator. Satan's weapon was and is simple: to make us think that God is indifferent to us. That damned snake whispers, “There's no love. He only created you to feel superior. HE'S USING YOU!” And in that moment, when we pushed past the limits our Creator intended for us, we were undone.
But God, who loves us with an everlasting love, knew this would happen before He even created the foundations of the world. He already had a plan in place to redeem us from ourselves and from the claim the enemy had on us when we allowed sin. When we chose our own way instead of God’s, we chose to not trust Him and became undone from perfection and undone from our relationship with Him.
Death became an inevitability in our living. We opened the way for sickness, disease, and treachery. All that was settled before- our food source, our protection, our relationships, our future- became unsettled, undone. And every generation, born of Adam and Eve since, enters the world undone.
We all need to be fixed. Jesus, the son of God, by his sinless life, death and resurrection, undid our undone-ness, and totally defeated the devil once and for all eternity.
The only way we can come to Jesus is undone. “ I confess You Lord of all. I believe you have loved me with an everlasting love. Fix me, Lord Jesus.”
